Ashley’s Finds   |   Antique Alley Arkansas Antique Show   | Ashley’s Finds on Facebook
February 27 – March 2, 2014

I survived another big Acxiom layoff yesterday. When they came for my co-worker in the cube across from me, I started thinking I might be following my dream of opening my own antique shop sooner than I expected. I’m still employed for now, though. 🙂

We have another big list of estate sales and auctions this weekend. I’m hoping to finally make it to the Rock City Traders sale this weekend. I’ve heard it’s amazing! The other sales sound awesome too. I didn’t get a chance to double-check with Roy Dudley that he’s having his Tanglewood sale this weekend, so please double check his website before heading that way. Here’s what’s going on this weekend:

Contents of antique shop plus two partial estates all housed in a 9000 sf building.

Antique phone booth, chestnut buffet, Mission oak sideboard, two large oak mantel, smaller mission oak mantel, oak sideboards, dressers, kitchen cabinets, 8 1/2 foot harvest table with two board top, farm tables, oak wardrobes, large entry mirror,  leaded glass doors, windows, and transom, large pine work table, smaller pine tables, antique three wheel wheelchair, kidney desk,  two retro table and chairs, barbers chair, retro and vintage stereo cabinets, early oak blanket chest,  early washstand, wardrobes, chests, dressers, sideboards, china cabinets, curio cabinets, piano stools, sofas, chairs, occasional tables, WAY too much furniture to list ranging from clean and ready to “in the rough” pieces, some needed only a good cleaning with others needing serious repair. Glassware, architectural salvage of all types, doors, molding, trim, hardware, gingerbread, enough furniture parts and pieces to fill trailers, plenty of repurpose and upcycle items to keep anyone busy for years, many pieces of marble, lamp parts, slag glass panels, unframed mirrors and glass, hammered aluminum, display cases, steampunk items, vintage glass, pottery, wooden boxes and crates of all types, mirrors, rugs, lamps, artwork, lamps, chandeliers, military items, thousands of books, jewelry, collectibles of all sorts, tools, vintage clothing and accessories, kitchen and household goods, and so much more. There are also rows and rows of boxes packed with even more items that haven’t even been sorted yet. More glassware, tools, pottery, silverplate, and loads of parts and pieces will be among the treasures you will find.

Everything will sell in this huge two weekend sale.

Now the fine print:

The building is VERY full and quite dusty and dirty (like most old antique shops become). Some of the boxes have broken glass, rusty nails, and all sorts of hazards. We are cleaning as best we can but there is only so much that can be done in the time allotted. We recommend heavy duty clothing and gloves if you plan to dig. We’ve spread it out as much as possible.

We aren’t going so far as to ban children from the sale but this building is really no place for young kids so please keep this in mind when making plans to attend. You know your kids better than we do and know how they will react in a hectic and overwhelming (as well as potentially dangerous) environment. It’s not our intention to discourage anyone from coming but no one likes surprises. If you do bring your kids we recommend trying to keep them as close to the front as possible, where things are cleaner and better organized. Both ends of the building have loads of boxes for folks to rummage through and that’s where it gets pretty sketchy.

We reserve the right to limit admission if necessary. The city of Bryant Fire Department is very keen on shutting down buildings found to be over capacity and that is the last thing we want. Please be patient if we’re forced to make you wait. We want you inside shopping every bit as much as you want to be in there but even with 9000sf of space it’s going to fill up fast.

As always we will accept credit cards but this building is located in a bit of a dead zone as far as mobile reception. This means we have to step out the front door sometimes to get enough of a signal to process your card. Please bear with us and if possible bring cash or a local check to pay for purchases. We don’t mind accepting cards but you might have to wait a few minutes until someone can step out to run it.

We hate going to sales where not everything is priced as much as anyone but this is going to be one of those sales. As you can see from the photos if we tried to price every item this sale wouldn’t happen for quite some time. Most days there is only going to be one person able to make prices on items. We will get to everyone as quickly as possible but beg your patience in advance.
