| A few months ago I gave Caleb my office so he could have his own bedroom. I planned on finding him a new mattress during Black Friday sales, but a bedroom set on last week’s Caring Transitions auction caught my eye beforehand. I won the bedroom set, a generator, and a washer/dryer combo. I asked Taimi ahead of time if she would be available to help me load the stuff and thankfully she was able to help. I learned that among Taimi’s many talents, she is awesome at moving heavy stuff. When she arrived at the house I told her she was going to hate me – the washer/dryer combo was upstairs in a small bathroom that required carrying it up five tiled stairs before going down a long, steep flight of carpeted stairs. Caring Transitions mentioned in the listing that it was difficult to get to, but I didn’t figure it could be that bad. It was pretty bad, but Taimi and I knocked it out in no time. We borrowed a dolly and carried the unit up the stairs and then toted it across a bedroom before fitting it through a doorway to go downstairs. It was a tight corner and Taimi said, “Let me get my belly out of the way” and I said, “What? You don’t have a belly!” only for her to respond, “Excuse me, let me get my uterus out of the way!” It cracked me up so much – which was not the best time since I was on the bottom side of the washer/dryer sliding it down the stairs. By some miracle we got it downstairs and loaded into my trailer with no issues. Everything else went smoothly too. Fast forward to tonight when it started sprinkling rain outside. I had to get everything inside by myself because Taimi wasn’t available to help me unload. I cheated and loaded everything from the trailer to the bed of my truck and drove it to my front door. The hardest part was the dresser. Bootsy attempted to help while I tried to figure out how to get the drawers out, but I never figured it out and had to get creative to be able to slide it into my truck and then into my house. The timing of the purchase was perfect because I was able to get bedding during the Cyber Monday sales. Once I get it all set up in Caleb’s room I’ll have to share photos.
