Upcoming Estate Sales & Auctions for September 3 – 6

The weekend has finally arrived where I get to sell some of my stuff! I really didn’t want to have the sale at my old house on Labor Day weekend, but I had a horrible handyman hold me up. Growing up my dad always did all the repairs around the house (He built my 5,500 sq. ft. childhood home from the ground up), so I am totally ignorant about hiring people. The first handyman I hired spent a whole Saturday trying to replace the Sheetrock in the ceiling of a closet and then left without saying “bye”. I thought his work looked off and I figured out he wasn’t capable of finishing the job when instead of telling me he couldn’t do it, over the next few days he insulted Caleb, my house, and then me. I was so blown away because I didn’t even know there was a problem until I put 2 and 2 together. Then the next guy, Rick, was a saint! Unfortunately he had to spend more time than expected repairing what the first guy did. He didn’t complain, though, and stuck to his original quote and did a beautiful job removing popcorn from the ceiling in one room and going back with the “orange peel” look, painting, and repairing popcorn ceiling in another room. He even helped me carry in 8′ folding tables from my truck and take them downstairs, which really impressed me because he was about to go home! Blue Suede Shoes in Benton is in the middle of their Shake, Rattle, and Roll sale which will run through Monday, September 7th. On Labor Day, the 7th, they’ll be cookin’ hot dogs between 11AM and 1PM. Blue Suede Shoes is an awesome mall if you’ve never been!
