I gave that awesome industrial cabinet I bought at Crystal Hill Antique Mall a makeover the past few days. I have decided I may need to leave painting furniture to the pros, but the color is growing on me. Now that the weather is nice, Little Caleb wants to stay outside ALL afternoon every day, so I’ve been trying to make good use of my time and work on projects. I haven’t had a chance to go by Lowe’s to get some spray paint, so I used an almost-full can that I already had. I am really excited about using this cabinet for storing show supplies, but I wasn’t excited about the chicken-scratch handwriting in Sharpe all over the drawers. I used nail polish remover, rubbing alcohol, and other stuff to try to remove the Sharpe, but the chemicals would take paint and all off. Once I realized the gray paint wasn’t original to the cabinet, I decided to just repaint the drawers. After the November 12-13 Antique Alley Arkansas and November 18-20 Bella Rustina I may repaint the drawers a different color, but since I’m almost out of “project time” now I’m just going to live with the color. Like Mom said, “You won’t have any problem finding it!” 🙂

The house is on the corner of Lee & N. Spruce. There is NO PARKING on Lee Ave. The city has the southbound side of N. Spruce marked as no parking. Therefore, it’s best to approach us from the south (from Markham) and look for a place to park as you get closer. I am waiting for a return phone call from Pulaski Heights United Methodist which is close to us on Lee Ave. We are hoping that we can use their parking lot as an overflow spot, but we may not have access to that if they have events going on. Please be respectful of any signage prohibiting our usage of their lot. It should be a beautiful weekend for a stroll, no matter where you park! Just remember that it’s illegal to park facing the wrong direction & watch for the city’s no parking signs.
Great sale this week!! Our star attraction is a beautiful baby grand piano by Wurlitzer with an interesting history. This is the very piano that Doris Day took lessons on after a car accident took away her ability to dance. Our client’s father went on to help get Ms. Day a job with Les Brown.
