I would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who emailed with encouragement last week. I’ve almost responded to everyone, but I’m playing catch up this week from pretty much taking off last week. I was pretty bummed out, but so many of you that came to Bella Rustina as customers and even exhibitors were so thoughtful and helped pull me out of it. I even received some constructive criticism, which I always hate at first but appreciate later. For example, some customers that didn’t come to the show this time let me know the aisles were too small last time. Some of our exhibitors set up outside their boundaries at the March show, which created tiny aisles in some spots. Of course I never expected in a million years our attendance would jump from 4,400 customers last Fall too 6,500 in March, so I told exhibitors to move their stuff within their boundaries, but I didn’t stay on top of them. I made it a priority to make sure exhibitors kept their merchandise in their booths this time, so the aisles were nice and open. It’s always great to hear from customers because they see things I may not. Since I rested up last week, I’m refreshed and I have a gazillion ideas for the upcoming shows. 2017 is going to be a great year!
Today I went to lunch with some members of the Little Rock Founders Lions Club. Their VP, Mr. Rogers, called me the week of Bella Rustina asking if I could help them put together the “Lions Market & Bazaar Uptown”, which will be a market designed to raise money for the blind. I knew they were for real when I sat down to lunch to find everyone had a binder with tabs with details for the event. They are organized and excited, which is half the battle when putting an event together. It will take place on Easter Saturday, April 15. I won’t be able to physically help them with much because my time is maxed out as it is, but I can help them with logistical decisions like don’t have an outdoor event in late November. 😀
