I learned something new this week that I thought I’d share. I got the above pink chairs off of one of the Facebook auction groups. I figured I’d have to use fabric paint on the one with the stains, but I Googled ways to get stains out of upholstery and mixed 1/4 cup vinegar, 3/4 cup warm water, and 1 tablespoon of dish soap in a spray bottle and applied it to the stain with a toothbrush and cloth. It worked well and the stain is very faint now. I plan to use the chairs in one of the “selfie stations” at the January 8-10 Antique Alley Arkansas Antique Show with a Valentine’s Day theme.
The Good Stuff Auction had an awesome online auction last week and I got myself some great vintage Christmas and kitchen items. The ornaments are larger “indent” ornaments made in Germany. The Pyrex bowls are the “Blue Mist” pattern and are even prettier in person. I couldn’t resist the giant knee-hugger elf – He may get to make an appearance with “Merry Ho-Ho”, our resident Elf-on-a-Shelf. The Santa came with the elf and is a typical vintage “ugly face” Santa. The retro mugs are so fun – I haven’t seen Orange Lustre mugs in years and those flower mugs have the perfect amount of funky.
The sales will most likely start dwindling after this week until the holidays are over, so if you need a good junkin’ fix, this will be the weekend to do it! Here are the sales I know about:
