Upcoming Estate Sales and Auctions for January 20 – 23

Last weekend we took our first ski vacation. We haven’t gone on a real vacation in around five years, so we were definitely due. We took the boys and my brother and sister-in-law joined us. We flew to Denver, spent the night in a hotel across from Union Station, and left out early Friday morning on a train to Winter Park, Colorado. As you can see from the above photo, we didn’t see much snow on the train ride. At the end of our train ride, we went through a tunnel and when we arrived on the other side, snow was everywhere and it was snowing! We quickly realized we were not dressed for such weather, so we scurried inside our lodge. We spent the rest of Friday exploring and picking up our ski rentals.

On Saturday we went skiing. The boys, my sister-in-law, and myself had never been skiing, while it had been 20+ years since Big Caleb and my brother had skied. I assumed it would be easy, so I spent my time Saturday morning helping the boys learn. By late morning, my brother and sister-in-law had left us to go ski and Big Caleb and I realized we all needed ski lessons. Luckily we were able to schedule ski lessons that afternoon. The ski instructor spent most of the time with the boys in hopes they would be safe to go up on the slopes. When it was all said and done, Little Caleb was a natural and Joshua and I had a long way to go. Big Caleb quickly remembered how to ski from many years ago.

The next day we ventured out of the resort on a free shuttle into town. We found a great park with sleds provided by the city and the boys had a blast. That evening, we went to Fraser Tubing Hill. The hill looked so scary, but we all finally mustered the courage to go down it on tubes. It was my favorite part of the trip! At one point five of us lined our tubes up and created a big chain, Joshua got in my lap, and Big Caleb pushed us over the side and jumped in. Big Caleb was last to go down, which jerked the whole group into a spin on the side of the hill. It was awesome.

The next day we went skiing again. The Caleb’s got up super early and skied all morning. We met up in the late morning and took a ski lift to all the amazing ski opportunities in the mountains. I quickly realized I hadn’t learned much from ski lessons, but I did manage to make it down one of the green (beginner) hills without falling. Little Caleb would zoom by and say, “Hey, Mom!” without a care in the world while I was slowly scooting down sideways trying not to die. I fell every time I got off a ski lift. I can only hope I get a chance to redeem myself in the future. 🙂

Below is a great list of sales for this weekend. If you know Mr. Earle from the shows, he is having a phenomenal sale in West Monroe, Louisiana. I do not think I’ve ever seen such a collection of carnival glass, Fenton, and more. The photos are fun to look at if nothing else. I wish I would have asked him for the times and address of the sale, but he’ll post that information tomorrow on his Facebook page. Here are the sales I know about:

Pennsylvania Trading Co.

Thursday – Saturday, January 20 – 22
9:00AM – 3:00PM

117 Colonial Ct.
Little Rock, Arkansas 72205
Parking:
There’s trash pick up on the street on Thursday – that might make some things interesting for a minute, but that minute will pass. Please do what you can to park close to the curb to help “widen” the street.
We’re about a block from the school’s property. We don’t anticipate any real issues with parking, but during their morning drop-off you might experience more cars than you’d usually anticipate. Remember that it’s illegal to be on your phone in a school zone, and bring your patience. It’ll all work out.
Turning left onto Markham at the south end of our street is dangerous. Please consider turning right, or depart going north on Colonial instead.

WE REQUIRE MASKS AT OUR SALES. EVEN IF YOU ARE VACCINATED. Thank you for you cooperation.

Need help getting there? No problem!  We always have turn-by-turn directions, a map & parking info. on our website: patradingco.com

We are notorious for opening early… by as much as 20 minutes!

Discounts:
Thursday: full price
Friday: 20% off
Saturday: 50% off
(unless the item is marked “firm”)

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS SALE:
For a better response time, don’t email questions. Please call or text instead. We are at a sale house and not in front of a computer, so we don’t see emails ’til WAY later.  We’d love to have a better chance to help you!
