I pretty much had my mind made up on my new logo last week, but another artist submitted some great designs in the last hours of the contest, which has prompted me to have a poll to get feedback on what the new AshleysFinds.com logo should be. The new logo is for this email and AshleysFinds.com. I posted the first poll on Facebook and received some great responses. I can ask for changes to be made to the winning logo, so all feedback, good and constructive, is welcome! Last week Caring Transitions had an exciting online jewelry auction. I don’t know much about jewelry, but in this business the one way I know to learn about stuff is to buy some of it and research it. So I did. My assistant, Smiley, is modeling my favorite pieces and I’ve included a photo of the awesome brooches I won.
I’m not sure what the green and white stones are (Malachite?), but they are gorgeous! The necklace is super long so I wrapped it around Smiley’s hair. The turquoise and coral? chunky necklace is fabulous too. Those turquoise earrings are my favorite win. In the brooch box is a nice lot of brooches made by Joan Rivers, Heidi Daus, Coro, and more. I had fun with the jewelry auction and won lots more than what I pictured. One of the exhibitors coming to the July 15-17 Bella Rustina in Conway deals in gems and minerals and she can tell me what I have if I can’t find it.
Today I added a new thing to my list of things I don’t like hauling. I won some stuff from another online auction for my shows. I was mainly bidding on a pallet of stage lighting for when I have shows in dark buildings, but then I came across an auction of eight 4′ round tables that was going cheap so I decided to go for them. The legs are adjustable, but they don’t fold in, so I had to get creative getting them home in my truck. Yesterday it wasn’t too bad because I had other stuff packed in, but I ran out of time to get all the tables because I had to get back for “field day” at Little Caleb’s school. I picked up the last four tables this morning and I had to stop multiple times on the way home to make sure they were riding okay. If I had it to do all over again I would have taken my drill and removed the legs off the table like a guy from Springfield, Missouri did. He packed three card catalog cabinets and at least 8 tables in the back of his little truck. I was proud of him.
