Upcoming Estate Sales and Auctions for August 18 – 21

Welcome, welcome, to all my new subscribers! I’m not sure what happened, but all of a sudden I’ve been flooded with new readers, which is great! We’ll be getting a new family photo made soon and I’ll share it then along with a more detailed introduction. Until then, I’m Ashley; I’ve put together an email every week (taking off Christmas week typically) since March of 2010 listing the estate sales, auctions, and vintage events I know about. I typically start every email with a story about junkin’ or my boys. My emails have become a 12 year weekly journal of my life from being a newly-married employed person to a married with 2 boys self-employed event promoter. It’s been a wild ride and I’m still doing off-the-wall stuff with no intentions of stopping. 🙂

Last week I told y’all I was going on an adventure Thursday morning. I planned to already have a Bella Rustina exhibitor email sent out, but I didn’t get it finished, so my subscribers get to find out what I’m up to first. I’m expanding Bella Rustina by adding the Conway Event Center space to the Conway Expo Center and open-air pavilion. Bella Rustina will have well over 300 booths for the September 9-11 event! The Event Center will be for boutiques and gift-items and will free up more room for vintage booths in the Expo Center. The Event Center is carpeted and has vinyl flooring in the lobby, so I had to come up with floor covering for the vinyl so we don’t damage the floors during load-in. I searched on Facebook Marketplace and found the perfect floor covering material – in Mountain Home. I dropped Joshua off in Searcy at my parents’, which made the drive a hard 3.5 hours. Google Maps told me it would be 3.5 hours and I always make better time, but those curvy two-lane roads made it impossible to make any time. As soon as I started heading back I realized there was no way I could get back in time to pick up Little Caleb from school, so I called Big Caleb to help. Minutes later I passed by a yard sale that made me do a double-take. It has been so long since I’ve been able to go junkin’ by myself and I enjoyed every second of it.

The items being sold belonged to an antique dealer. Her prices were mostly fair so I got so much. In the photo above, the picture with flowers has a convex/bubble glass frame and the quote says, “TO MOTHER – A blessed combination, A nation’s true foundation; The one for whom we pray To be with us, Through many years, As on this ‘Mother’s Day'”. The lady in green and white was made by California Pottery. The cute boy and girl couple are salt and pepper shakers. The wheels on the Easter bunny basket roll – It has the potential to make an adorable arrangement! The glass flower frogs in the front have no chips, which is pretty uncommon. The green swung glass bud vase in the back was a fun find too!

I love pottery and couldn’t pass up the pieces above. I had to get the milk glass hen on nest because those have become “harder than hen’s teeth” to find. The upside-down pink bowl is pink enamelware, which is something else I don’t see often. I typically don’t buy Avon anything, but I couldn’t resist the turquoise Avon cream jar with its bird of paradise design on the metal lid from the 50s. The colors of the jar and lid look so good together!

Brass isn’t my thing, but it is growing on me. These sets were priced right so they came home with me.

These printer’s type letters, numbers, and symbols are amazing. The set is missing some pieces, but the pieces I got are fantastic. I love the font!

As I was making my last run-through before paying for my finds, I found these awesome bottles. As soon as I get a chance to get some zinnias, I’ll display single stems in these bottles. My backdrop for my photos is a large wooden drawer. It was the perfect box to carry my finds to the truck in. I also purchased a large antique wooden toolbox. I forgot to take photos of it, but it is so neat. I’ll share photos of it soon.

The weather looks great for this weekend! I hope you get to enjoy it. Here are the sales I know about for this weekend:
