Upcoming Estate Sales and Auctions for September 15 – 18

One of these days I think it would be fun to put together a documentary of the start to finish of a Bella Rustina Modern Vintage Market. Every show presents its own challenges from last-minute cancellations to weather. Last weekend had me running (sometimes literally) almost constantly. I didn’t sleep a wink from Thursday to Friday because as I laid down to try to sleep for an hour (on a folding mattress on the floor of the Conway Expo Center) I realized I forgot the cash registers at home and had to get up and drive back to Maumelle. My best mistake of the weekend was ordering pizza for my workers online from the Maumelle location instead of Conway. Thankfully Big Caleb was able to take that order over to the Maumelle Police Department because I hated to see 5 pizzas go to waste. Despite my chaos, Bella Rustina was fantastic. I am so thankful for my boutique exhibitors who gave the new expansion to the Event Center a chance. That area was beautiful and smelled great! Exhibitors seemed to put extra effort into their displays because the show looked awesome.

My favorite part of the show last weekend was Little Caleb getting a “job”. Maria of Maria’s Tamales told me she needed a helper selling drinks on Saturday. She said a kid would be fine, so I asked Caleb if he’d be interested. He had already asked me about buying a bunch of stuff, so he was thrilled for the opportunity. I told Maria he had never done anything like that before and he’s only 7, but she took him under her wing and showed him the ropes. I didn’t get to see him in action, but in a couple hours he was paid $20 and made $8 in tips and was grinning ear to ear. I told him he could buy whatever he wanted with the money, hoping he would hold on to it. Oh no, my son went on a trinket-buying spree and bought multiple costume jewelry rings, crystals, a napkin ring, and a large jar of honey. The honey was the bulk of the cost and I know some of the things in the photo were gifted to him, but the whole grouping cracks me up.

Overall the weekend was amazing and many great memories were made. The attendance numbers beat last year’s by hundreds and many exhibitors had a good show. I enjoyed meeting those of you who came and introduced yourselves and I appreciate everyone who supported the show! The big Christmas show is November 18-20 and it is already lining up to be incredible.

Looks like we’ve got another great list of sales for this weekend. Here are the details:
