| Every week for this email I look through the photos I took on my phone to remember if I’ve done anything interesting in the last week. The only interesting thing I’ve done other than work on next weekend’s Bella Rustina Modern Vintage Market in Conway is buy an awesome metal bench swing off Facebook Marketplace. I’ve wanted one for years, but the metal ones are hard to find. The kids are too big for the swings that were on the frame, so I took them down and put this up. Joshua (7) came outside and sat with me on it for about 5 minutes before politely telling me he was going back inside. I got him to go outside and hang out with me – a win is a win. 🙂 I hated to hear the Painted Tree (all ~60 locations across the country) closed abruptly on Monday after filing Chapter 7 bankruptcy. This has displaced hundreds of exhibitors in Little Rock and thousands across the country. I can’t imagine how devastating this is for those exhibitors, many of whom relied on the income from their booth space. The Painted Tree sent an email to exhibitors stating rising costs, shifting market conditions, and the evolving nature of how people shop were the cause for closure. The market is definitely changing – I’ve seen it with my events and I’ve been making changes to adapt. I’ll be listening for ways to help those displaced exhibitors. I have a handful of spots left at Bella Rustina next weekend if anyone who fits the show wants to join us.
