| The Zonta Antique Show had a successful 51st year last weekend. It started out stressful, but turned out fine. I brought home some humdingers. Last year one of the exhibitors sold an antique fish bowl. It was so gorgeous and I figured I wouldn’t see another. This year a different exhibitor brought two vintage fish bowls from the ’30s. They were pricey so I didn’t consider them at first, but they stayed on my mind all weekend. I found myself trying to look them up and couldn’t find the exact bowls to get price comparisons. On Sunday I spoke with the exhibitor about them and found out the glass bowls aren’t original, but are vintage Anchor Hocking bowls that fit perfectly. The bottom stand may have originally had a Uranium glass bowl! I’ll have to keep a lookout for a Uranium fish bowl because that would make mine worth so much more than I paid for it. I found a similar stand to the top photo on eBay and it sold for double what I paid for it, so I decided to pull the trigger. I bought the angel candelabras from the same exhibitor. My next project will probably be on my gold/brass collage in my dining room after these amazing finds. Another amazing find in Longview, Texas was Russell Stover Dubai-style milk chocolate. I went to dinner with Susan Kay, my hostess, and afterwards we picked up a banner I had printed at Walgreens. As I headed to the photo station, Susan Kay walked away saying something about amazing Easter candy. I was totally amused watching this affluent lady loading her cart with candy like an excited squirrel. I say this with the utmost respect because Susan Kay is one of the most incredible ladies I know. When we left I couldn’t help but ask what was so special about the Easter candy she got. She let me try one and holy moly, they are yummy! Russell Stover Dubai-Style Milk Chocolate is described as “…a premium, Middle Eastern-inspired chocolate featuring creamy pistachio butter, crunchy kataifi pastry, and smooth almond, all wrapped in rich milk chocolate.” I went back to Walgreens the next day and got a few for myself. I let Caleb taste one and he didn’t like it, but I figure they are more for the refined tastebuds of adults. So far I have not found them in central Arkansas, which is probably a good thing for my waistline. The inaugural Bella on the Boulevard is in Maumelle this Saturday from 9AM-3PM. Exhibitors will fill around 50 booths of vintage, handmade, boutiques, and treats at the market plus there will be at least 6 food trucks. It really is a good lineup representing Bella Rustina!
