It has been a crazy busy week so far. On Sunday the boys and I attempted to take a family photo but Joshua decided to not join us and hold his sign backwards. He is such a stinker! On Monday, Jim’s (Santa) estate auction came to a close and I got some great things to remember him by. The steampunk lamp in the photo was purchased at Bella Rustina from one of our makers years ago. That artist has since retired, so I was thrilled to get one of their lamps. It looks perfect in my office! I also won some Shawnee Winnie Pig cookie jars. It made my day when I opened one of them and found a 2016 receipt from Joyce Nicoletti. Joyce was one of my first exhibitors and joined us from 2011 – 2020. She had the huge booth of glassware, cookie jars, and African baskets. She passed away unexpectedly and I really miss her at the shows. I love that I now have something to remember her by. I also purchased a malt mixer that came from the Malt Mixer Man from Kansas. I knew Jim came to my shows often, but I didn’t realize how much he supported my exhibitors. Winning some of his items was definitely bittersweet.

Tomorrow I get to go pick up a beautiful sleigh I won from Hobby Auction Service. Somehow I will go to my work out class in the morning, run to Sheridan afterward to pick up the sleigh, and slide in sideways at school (probably with trailer attached) in the afternoon to attend the boys’ class parties. The best part will be finding a place to store the sleigh, but I don’t want to think about that right now. It’ll look amazing at the Christmas shows in November! 🙂
