I tried something new last week and I have to share my “lessons learned”. Last week I found an online auction for the contents of the Maumelle Walmart Neighborhood Market that closed back in January. They listed some awesome stuff I could use for my shows, so I signed up and won carts, 2-wheelers, tables, display shelves, and even a motorized cart. I also won a pallet dolly for my dad (perfect last-minute Father’s Day gift). The auction ended Thursday evening and pickup for the items was Friday – today (Wednesday) from 10AM-4PM. Since I didn’t find out about the auction until Thursday, I didn’t have childcare lined up and couldn’t pick up my items until Friday afternoon around 2PM. Sadly, my favorite items were stolen by the time I got there! The auction company out of Ohio automatically charged my credit card at the end of the auction so I’m now hoping for a credit, but it’s a total bummer because I got some great deals! If I ever do something like this again, I’ll be there when they open to hopefully get my items. The main items that were taken were 1 two-wheeler and 2 carts, so if you or someone you know accidentally got these, I’d looove to have them. If I had all 3 aluminum carts, it would save me from having to take my trailer to Longview, Texas next Spring for the Zonta Antique Show because I could put them in the back of my truck. The industrial carts I have now are like 200 lbs each, so I have to travel with them in my trailer. I still came out a winner with the items I did get — not many antique shows or vintage markets can boast a motorized shopping cart for their less-mobile customers!
