Feb 152018

Last week is one of those weeks that I was glad to see be over. By last Friday I was big-time sick. I had so hoped I could somehow escape getting the flu, but I’m fairly sure I got it. I’m finally feeling human again today and so thrilled to feel better.

You may remember last year around this time I purchased some carts from the liquidation of the Maumelle Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market and when I went to pick them up, two of the three carts were stolen. I have been looking for some good, affordable carts ever since and of course found some right before I got sick. Thankfully the carts were still available Sunday, so my dad went with me to the middle of nowhere to purchase them. The place was so cool – junk everywhere – if I hadn’t been feeling bad and it hadn’t been so cold I could have probably dug around and found some great junk along with the carts. I may go back another time to get more carts and look around if the ones I bought are as good as I think they will be. I’ve needed carts that I can load in the back of my truck to take to Longview, Texas for the Zonta Antique Show where I’m the exhibitor director. The venue has no carts and many exhibitors have to carry their merchandise through the lobby to load into their booths. We’ve made-do with table carts, but those are hardly ideal. I was thrilled when Dad and I were able to fold the carts and fit 6 into the back of my truck. I was not thrilled when I noticed I only got 9-10 miles per gallon of gas driving home and when the wind going through the ratchet straps made me sound like a swarm of angry bumble bees. I may have to get creative to figure out a way to be more aerodynamic on my trip to Longview. Even with those setbacks I’m excited to be able to provide better carts for my exhibitors. The carts will come in handy during the March 9-11 Bella Rustina too.

There’s a good number of sales again this weekend! I hope you’re able to get out and enjoy them. I’ll be heading out early Friday morning to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Vintage Tulsa Show. Sadly, I found out last week two of my Zonta Antique Show exhibitors passed away. I had expected them to be at the March 2-4 Antique Show, so I’m hoping to find new exhibitors to fill their spots. The Zonta Antique Show is such a high-end show that most of my central Arkansas exhibitors wouldn’t fit in. It’s an honor to be a part of that show as it has been going on for 43 years, but it’s a challenge to find the right exhibitors for it sometimes. I’ll let you know how my recruiting goes – I’ll have around 140 exhibitors to choose from in Tulsa and surely a couple will be available the first weekend of March. 🙂

Here are the sales I know about:

We also have a gorgeous bathroom faucet for sale… and seeing how I’m not highly knowledgable about such things, I’m going to say that I THINK this is a correct way of describing it: High-end, gold-toned, wide spread, deck-mounted roman tub filler with glass, lever-style handles.
