Having a second child is just like in that commercial that compares having a firstborn with the second-born. With my firstborn, Little Caleb, I remember having to move him away from our bed at night because his uneven breathing had me up all night checking on him every few minutes. I was a nervous wreck half the time worrying about him. This time around, since I know a little bit better what I’m doing, I have so enjoyed baby Joshua. Since he was born at 11:12PM, he had his days and nights mixed up, so I stayed awake for 5 days straight last week with only a cat nap here and there. It wasn’t until I developed a searing headache Thursday after sending out the email that I realized what I had done to myself. I have since done a little better on getting sleep, but it’s a challenge to get two boys into bed. Little Caleb is now sitting in my lap after I put him to bed hours ago. Little Joshua will most likely wake up at any time ready to eat. Speaking of eating, I had to laugh at my mom yesterday. She came over to help me with the boys while I worked on Bella Rustina stuff. She brought a bunch of baking stuff, but I didn’t pay much attention to her because she likes to multitask. She baked a cake, brownies, and banana muffins while she was here and then only took a handful of muffins with her when she left. I asked her what in the world she was doing and she said she baked all that stuff to help with my milk supply. I’m not having any trouble in that area this time around, but I’ll take baked goods any day!
The baby euphoria hasn’t made me forget about junk, though. While I was in the hospital last week I found a super cool vintage cooler on one of the Facebook auction sites and won it. I can’t find anything online about it so I may have to ask around to find out more about it. I’m pretty sure the advertising sign attached to it is a reproduction, but the cooler itself is really cool. I also won some retro wire planters that I hope to decorate with at the shows.
