Remember those amazing carts I bought back in February that I was so thrilled about because they fit in the back of my truck? I’ve loaded them perfectly and taken them to Longview, Texas and bought them from the Searcy, Arkansas area, but yet I decide to take them to the old WalMart building last night in preparation for Bella Rustina this weekend, which is a little over a mile away from my house, and they fell over!
Now I will admit I only used one ratchet strap, but I thought surely I could drive slow on the back roads and I’d be fine. It either takes lots of time trying to accurately throw the ratchet strap through all the carts to tie them down or it takes two people. The carts fold into each other so they were just one big wad of carts. Of course I had the car seats so Big Caleb couldn’t come save the day. Thank goodness a family I know were on a walk and just happened to see me and offer to help. The father helped me push the carts back up into the back of the truck so I could strap them down and get to the Wal-Mart. I almost laughed as he said “Watch your right side – you’re kinda wide!” I made it to the Wal-Mart building and I worked on them for over an hour until I painstakingly loosened them from each other and got them out. Somehow neither my truck nor any of the carts got damaged (that I’ve noticed) and I didn’t smash my fingers or even break a nail. But then I had to unload the rest of my truck and spend the rest of the night marking off booths. I owe Big Caleb and my parents big time for watching the boys while I tackled my silly mistake.
Regardless of how yesterday went, today went great! Exhibitors started loading in for Bella Rustina and just the few that came today were amazing! I’ll be posting preview photos Thursday night after everyone sets up. The building is so full. I had so many exhibitors wanting to join us that I figured out how to add more booths and add a seating area. I hate it I didn’t get everyone in, but I still may get cancellations and be able to get those exhibitors in too. I hope you can come by and see us this weekend. This is going to be a great event!
My parents are camping at the Wal-Mart, so I’ve got to head back over to join them and Little Caleb and Joshua. It’s so nice to have them closeby while I work!

The Bella Rustina Modern Vintage Market will fill the former Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in Maumelle, Arkansas with almost 200 booths July 13 – 15, 2018 with antiques, vintage, upcycled/repurposed antiques and vintage, as well as vintage-inspired handmade items! The hours for the vintage market will be Friday and Saturday from 9:00AM – 5:00PM and Sunday’s hours will be from 12:00PM – 5:00PM. Admission is $8 per adult and $1 per child 12 and under on Friday and Admission is $5 per adult and $1 per child that’s 12 and under Saturday and Sunday. Admission is good all weekend and parking is free!
