After the umpteenth time of putting Joshua to bed, I think he’s finally out. That baby seems to just know that I’m not in the room and won’t sleep soundly until I’m in the bedroom too. Our sleeping arrangement is so silly right now. Joshua sleeps in his bed in our bedroom. Before Joshua came around, Little Caleb was doing great sleeping in his awesome race car bed in his room. Since the baby has arrived, though, Little Caleb gets to sleep in our bed. Since I’m up and down multiple times throughout the night, I’ve seen some funny stuff. It’s nothing to come back to bed to find Little Caleb sleeping sideways with his feet in his dad’s face. Poor Big Caleb is working so hard doing his regular job of Maumelle city attorney and running for mayor that he’s sound asleep within no time of going to bed and is clueless of Little Caleb’s feet. He works all day and then comes home, changes clothes, and then goes out door-to-door, rain or shine, talking to voters about what he can do for Maumelle. Saturdays and Sunday afternoons are full of the same routine. Thankfully he’s the best candidate for the job since he knows all the issues our city faces backwards and forwards on top of the fact that he’s passionate about our city. He talked to me for months about his interest in running for mayor and one day said, “I’m doing it!” and I responded, “I know. I could have told you that!”. His main opponent is retired and has more time to campaign, which will most likely mean a close race. If Caleb loses he’ll be unemployed as of January, but we’re not worried. We have been so blessed in our life together that we have faith he’ll land where he’s supposed to. I do like the idea of being “First Lady” of Maumelle, though.
Crystal Hill Antique Mall, located at 5813 Crystal Hill Rd in North Little Rock, will be having their Fall Open House this Saturday and Sunday from 9AM-5PM. They’ll have snacks and a chance to win a gift certificate.
We have a ton of sales this weekend. I have decided to try to go to some sales this weekend, so don’t think a thing about it if you hear a baby crying and a mom hollering at her 3 year old because that’ll be us. We’ve stirred up the grocery stores enough so we gotta change it up a bit. I miss everybody I get to see when I go to the sales and the joy of the hunt, so I’m looking forward to it even though we may only last a couple of sales. Here are the sales I know about:
