Last Friday I participated in my first Escape Room at the Mystery Mansion. The Maumelle Chamber of Commerce invited me and I was excited to give it a try. We had some brilliant members in our group so we were able to solve the puzzles with 10 minutes to spare. If you’ve never heard of an Escape Room, you basically get a group together and solve multiple riddles to achieve an overall goal within an hour. In our case, we were trying to find Santa’s naughty list and erase our names. I was introduced to different types of locks I’ve never seen before as well as interesting technology. It was super cool. The owner says they are in the process of coming up with a room that looks like it’s from the 70s so I may have to go back and check that one out.
Last week I went by South Main Creative and found some fun vintage Christmas items. I don’t often find “Christmas Kitsch”, but South Main Creative had Putz houses, little elves, and lots of other super cute stuff! I bought the glitter tree made from a book and the elf sitting in a trunk and could have bought more!
I want to point out that The Good Stuff Auction on Saturday in Conway will be amazing stuff found/picked by Shane Westmoreland. He has participated in over 30 of my shows plus many others and he’s known for having unique, one-of-a-kind, and rare antiques and vintage. He’s moving his storage location and giving us an opportunity to take home some of his great finds so he won’t have to move them. Check out the photos for that auction to see what I mean!
