There are days in a momma’s life where her shower is the best part of the day. I have been a walking Kleenex for my sick boys for almost two weeks now. Little Caleb is finally getting better and Joshua came down with the cold over the weekend. I’m so glad it’s fall break for pre-school so Caleb can get better without missing more school and we can get some sleep.
I was able to accomplish something in spite of my littles being sick. I spotted some awesome 5′ warehouse carts on the Faulkner County Online Auction group on Facebook and won six of them for my exhibitors to use at the shows. I didn’t realize until she gave me the address to pick them up that it was John Hutchcraft’s (Hutch Auction) daughter who was selling them. It was great to meet another fine junker.
Even though it’s extra overhead, I love to buy things to make the shows easier. I already have three 7′ warehouse carts we use at every show, but with over 100 exhibitors, the carts are almost always in use. I have five tall Frito Lay carts, but after they fell over in the back of my truck (they are too tall for my enclosed trailer) that one time I am hesitant to take them anywhere. These six carts I just bought fit Tetris-style in the back of my truck and I can load/unload them by myself! I’ve literally been looking for carts like these at a good price for years, so I’m just a tad excited.
This Friday-Sunday Twin City Antique Mall (5812 Crystal Hill Rd in NLR) is having their open house with refreshments and sales throughout the building. Hometown Kountry Marketplace (7420 Counts Massie Rd in Maumelle) is having 20-75% sales throughout the building starting Friday too. Arkansas Peddlers in Springhill will have their 9th anniversary celebration and open house this Sunday from 10AM-5PM with food, prizes, and deals. I bet there are a bunch more shops having special events and sales this weekend, so be sure to stop by your favorite shops to support local small businesses.
