I am counting my blessings that I was able to have the Bella Rustina Modern Vintage Market last weekend and that for many exhibitors it was a success. Shows in Texas and Louisiana were shut down right after all the exhibitors had set up so both promoters and exhibitors lost lots of money. We only had a third of the usual number of customers join us in Maumelle, but I am so thankful for those customers coming out and spending money with our exhibitors. Many Bella Rustina exhibitors sell at shows for a living and are facing weeks without income because so many events have been canceled, especially Canton and Round Top in Texas. The April 4-5 Bella Rustina in Conway has been postponed until April 25-26. I’m hoping with all the efforts to keep everyone from getting/spreading the coronavirus that we’ll get to keep the April 25-26 weekend. I know we’d all love for this uncertain time to be over as soon as possible so we can get back to normal and have no trouble finding toilet paper and necessities!
Estate sale agents are facing similar dilemmas with their sales. I know Pennsylvania Trading Company and Roy Dudley Estate Sales are postponing their sales for now. Rook’s Antiques will be posting leftover items online for sale from last weekend’s estate sale. Caring Transitions and Saugey’s will be using online auctions to liquidate estates. Some agents are forced to have in-home sales (while taking many precautions to keep the public safe) to help clients clear homes that have sold. I’ll keep everyone as informed as I can as our agents come up with ways to sell during this ever-evolving situation.
Here are the sales I know about for this weekend:
