Big Caleb won! He has continued his winning streak. He won the Maumelle Ward 4 alderman race years ago, then the city attorney race, to the mayor’s race 4 years ago and then this year’s mayor’s race. We appreciate everyone’s support. One of my favorites was the guy who held signs for Caleb at different places throughout town and sent selfies of himself to Caleb at each place. He is a goofball, but that sort of stuff is encouraging. The boys helped us hold signs yesterday at the polling stations. Like any good ‘ole Arkansas boy, Joshua had to take off his shoes to hold signs properly. I am thankful for the great weather we had!
Next up is the November 18-20 Bella Rustina Modern Vintage Market inside the Conway Expo & Event Center plus open-air pavilion. I’ve got over 350 booths filled at this point, so this will definitely be the biggest show yet. We’ll have some of the best vendors in every category. Mr. Earle will be back for the first time this year with his unusual antiques. Covid kicked his tail last year and he has worked hard to build his strength up to join us. Mr. Jim Thomas will also be back after major heart surgery last year. I didn’t think he’d get to join us ever again, so I was thrilled to get a call from him. He is bringing an incredible collection of Fenton (Vaseline glass, cranberry, and more). Charles Huie will be back with his hand-carved Santas. The boutique section will have a permanent jewelry (welded bracelets that aren’t intended to come off easily) vendor and an exhibitor who creates earrings from real butterfly wings. The butterflies are ethically sourced from butterfly farms after they pass away – what a neat way to preserve butterflies’ beauty! That’s just a handful of almost 200 exhibitors who will join us. I can’t wait!
