| I noticed my gym posted a reel with a short snippet of me doing back rack box squats today, so I took a screen shot. It isn’t the most flattering photo because I was coming up from the seated position, but I try to take screen shots when I can to see my progress. I had 195 pounds on my back and had to sit down on the bench and then stand back up. Normally without the bench I can squat more, but sitting on the bench takes out the momentum and makes the squat more difficult. My hour of the day at the gym has become sacred “me time”. My favorite is barbell work. Many people think barbell work is for the young folks, but anyone can do it at any age. My favorite gym couple is in their 60s and they join my class pretty much every day. Building muscle is so important as we age because it helps improve memory and protects against dementia, builds muscle and strengthens bones, improves balance, and, if nothing else, builds confidence and makes you feel good. It has helped me tremendously as I work at the shows because my endurance is so much better. Speaking of shows, next up is the January 2-4 Antique Alley Arkansas Antique Show inside the Conway Expo Center. I’m working on signing up exhibitors and submitting ads this week. All of my advertising reps will (typically) be out of the office next week so I’m knocking everything out this week. With Christmas next week, we may not have any sales on the weekend.
