| I bought more crewel. And I haven’t finished painting my stairway (hence the painter’s tape). I really needed some smaller crewel pieces to fill in the openings on my stairwell, so I was super excited when one of my Bella on the Boulevard exhibitors, Timetravz, brought multiple pieces. These go perfectly with my collection and will be hung soon! Last Saturday’s Bella on the Boulevard set the bar so high! We had great exhibitors, the weather was perfect, and we had lots of customers all day and past closing time at 3:00. To be safe, I had to wait around 30 minutes after closing before I could let any exhibitors drive in to load up. My only complaint was I had 4 vintage exhibitors have to cancel, so we didn’t have as much vintage as I’d like. We had just about everything else covered, though, so it was a well-rounded event. The next Bella on the Boulevard is June 6. I’m already looking forward to it – a small, one-day event is enjoyable compared to the grind of 5 days for my usual events. I’m so proud of my right-hand woman at the shows, Robin! She is featured on the cover of the latest issue of 501 Life magazine and has an article showing off her home of vintage treasures. Click here to see the issue. Her article begins at page 54. I’ve watched Robin find so many neat things for her home at Antique Alley Arkansas and Bella Rustina over the past 15 years. She’s smart about it too, often bringing items to the shows to sell to make room for her new finds so her space doesn’t get cluttered. Watching her collect and decorate her home has encouraged me to do the same with mine. I may never make it to the cover of a magazine, but I have enjoyed the hunt for unique, colorful items to make my Maximalist home mine.
