| The second Bella on the Boulevard was another success – it was hot, so it wasn’t perfect, but we had a great group of exhibitors and a decent crowd came to support us. I have to talk about my favorite piece in the show. A friend of mine was in a motorcycle accident where someone ran a red light and hit him. The accident broke both his hands, his hip, and dislocated his knee on the other leg, so he hasn’t been able to work for months. I found out he can do woodwork and I have encouraged him to join the markets to make money while he heals. He has built birdhouses, shelves, and now benches. My favorite piece he has built so far is the bench pictured above. My mom gave him the metal headboard, Taimi gave him jerk blocks to use for scrap wood, and he had some scrap metal from a previous welding job. The coolest part is he left the casters on the headboard so the bench can be tilted and rolled to a new destination. The bench didn’t sell at Bella on the Boulevard, but I’ll bring it to Antique Alley Arkansas for him July 10-12 (if I don’t figure out a good place at my house for it beforehand).
