| A silly photo of Dora is all I have this week. I’ve had my head down working for the past week getting ready for the July 10-12 Antique Alley Arkansas Antique Show in the Conway Expo Center and volunteering for the Maumelle Chamber of Commerce. Maumelle is doing a membership drive and since I’m a Chamber Director, I am expected to participate. I’m a decent salesman, but I get my fair share of cold calling promoting events, so I asked to join the “Welcome” group. We drive to new Chamber members’ businesses to welcome them and to distribute a Welcome packet. When I arrived yesterday to distribute Welcome packets I was told that us runners were expected to bring in a new member each. I hadn’t prepared for that, but I brainstormed and called a couple people right at the end of the day and actually snagged a new member. The new member I recruited pushed our numbers to break a record, so it made it worth it. I had errands to run today in Conway and Cabot, so I picked up the list of new members to welcome in those cities. I got to meet some cool people! One of them was Patrick “Dr. Fit” Jamerson, owner of One Fit Nation in Conway. He recently published a best-selling book called Indestructible 42: Mind First. Body Second. Become Indestructible. He just got back from a trip to New York where he did a book signing! He showed me a photo of him standing in front of a billboard promoting his book on Times Square. He shared a little bit of his story and now I’m excited to read his book. He says the audio version will be out soon, which is even better for me! We have a bazillion sales this weekend.
