| People tell me all the time they don’t know why I’m not scared to do things like drive a huge box truck, etc., and honestly, all it is is pure ignorance. I learn as I go. I absolutely love my new (to me) box truck and I’m learning the hard way what I can and cannot do in a 27′ box truck. One of those things is drive into parking lots that have a big dip in the driveway. I figured I could go anywhere, but ten minutes before Bella on the Boulevard opened on Saturday, I found out otherwise. I moved the truck from the Millwood Station parking lot to the church parking lot across the street and got stuck big time. My lift gate drug the ground and I wasn’t going anywhere! Thankfully multiple exhibitors with box truck experience came to help. I took 2×4’s out of my truck and put them under the back wheels and one of my exhibitors pulled me out of my jam. We figured out a back road to the parking lot so I don’t have to worry about getting stuck in the future. I will say I was done loading up all my show stuff by 5:00 (We closed at 3:00). In the past I had to make 2-3 trips back and forth to my house using my regular truck and it was after dark before I was done. I’m excited to see how much time it saves us at the big shows! My next big adventure with my truck is to take it to see how much it weighs with all my show junk in there to make sure I don’t need a CDL. I’m pretty sure I don’t, but that is one surprise I can’t afford to be ignorant about!
