Upcoming Estate Sales and Auctions for July 29 – August 1

Last week and this week have been one of those times where I feel like I’m churning a million miles an hour and going nowhere. Last week between calls to potential building managers for the Fall Bella Rustina, I gathered toys the boys had outgrown for a children’s consignment sale. If you’re not familiar with how the consignment sales go these days, they are brilliant in that you can enter a description, price, etc. for each item into their app to add it to the database and then pick up pretty printed price labels with a barcode to attach to each item. I didn’t read the email until it was almost too late that the database was almost full a day early. I dropped everything to begin entering the items before I was really ready. I literally entered three items, an Exersaucer, the boys’ crib, and changing table, before the database filled up. I decided it would still be worth taking the items, but while I was putting the Exersaucer back together after cleaning it, I realized it was missing two pieces. I tore the house apart trying to find the parts with no luck, so I decided not to take it. Then as I was carrying the disassembled crib out to my truck, I found the manufacturing date is 2006 and this consignment sale can’t take cribs manufactured before 2010. So I aborted that whole mission and will list the crib and changing table on Facebook Marketplace and box up everything I tore out for a future consignment sale.

The HVAC guys have had to come back out the past two days and they finally figured out that the condensation pipe was super stopped up. The pipes up in our attic go up and down and all around and even though the technicians thought they had cleaned the pipe twice, it took cutting the pipe in the attic and shooting Nitrogen through to actually clean them out. Pretty sure we didn’t need that new blower motor they installed, but I couldn’t get the technician to admit it.

I’m on like Plan G for a building for our Fall Bella Rustina, but I should be able to announce our show location by next week’s email. I try to do two shows a year in the Little Rock area, but the standard Little Rock event venues don’t fit the show needs in the areas of size, trailer parking, load in/out ease, etc., so I try to find good retail buildings to have the shows in. It appears there’s a commercial real estate boom just like there’s a residential boom right now because every building I’ve asked about so far has a permanent tenant moving in soon. I still have a couple good locations I’m going after, but I try to respect the realtors by getting a “no” first before requesting the next location. The Fall show is one of my favorites and I’m getting excited about filling our venue-to-be with pumpkins, corn stalks, and pretty Fall colors.

In all the chaos, I did stop and get myself a happy. I found this crewel piece on Facebook Marketplace and had to have it. It is a huge piece of art and absolutely gorgeous.

If you were estate sale shopping during the May 21-23 weekend and found a pair of black Versace prescription glasses with gold trim, one of your fellow estate sale lovers is missing them. Please let me know if you saw them or picked them up so I can pass the information on to the owner.

The sales look fantastic this weekend! I’ve noticed hard-to-find gems in the photos of just about every sale. Here are the sales I know about:
