We had such a great Saturday! My “Breakfast with Santa” backdrop came together perfectly (I got a different chair than the Hollywood Regency-style chair I mentioned last week) and I think the boys’ photo came out pretty great too. Later that day my brother and sister-in-law joined us for the Maumelle parade, where we had a blast throwing out candy to the kids. We found a plug-in in Big Caleb’s Tahoe, so we were able to string blue LED lights around the vehicle, which looked neat. After the parade we went to dinner and then to the Sherwood’s Enchanted Forest Trail of Lights. We were in line forever, but we got caught up on the latest adventures my brother and sister-in-law have been on (He owns an autobody shop and she is a travel nurse) and we got to do silly things like a random Chinese fire drill while we waited. Little Caleb didn’t really understand what a Chinese fire drill was until his dad grabbed him and my brother grabbed Joshua and they ran like crazy people around the vehicle. The boys stood on the console and hung out the moonroof, waving to other kids as we passed them four times in that big parking lot. We had a great time and the light displays were gorgeous as always.
In other exciting news, I fixed my refrigerator! I asked a local “fix anything” guy to come by and check it out and all he could say was he thought my refrigerator was too full. My momma has a full refrigerator; mine doesn’t even compare to hers, so I knew that wasn’t the right answer. I piddled around on Youtube and finally found a video where a guy was showing a damper that was having trouble opening/closing. The sound it made was the exact sound mine was making, so I decided to take the plunge and buy the $100+ part. Amazon delivered the part the next day and I had it replaced in around 30 minutes. I still do a happy dance when I shoot my milk with our temperature gun and it reads around 40 degrees. Not only did I save us a couple hundred plus dollars from a repairman coming out, I also accomplished something that was outside of my comfort zone.
I received lots of sales by individuals for this weekend, which is exciting because sales by individuals can have great opportunities. They can also be complete duds since I don’t have a good way of screening the people who submit ads (yet). These sales sound good, so I bet we’re in for a treat.
