| Last week Joshua graduated from Kindergarten. I found out the night before graduation the third grade kiddos with siblings in Kindergarten would help hand out programs and were to wear their “Sunday best”. Caleb alway refuses to wear pants regardless of how cold it is outside, but for his brother’s graduation he was more than happy to wear pants! All this time I thought he had a sensory issue with pants with how he would fight wearing them and all it took was doing something special for his little brother! None of his pants fit, so I made a late-night trip to Wal-Mart five minutes before they closed (I had no idea they close at 11 now!) to pick out a nice Polo and pants for him to wear. While we were taking photos no one noticed Caleb was holding his strawberry syrup for his class’s end-of-school party (with ice cream sundaes).
It’s tadpole season! A couple years ago I wrote about Caleb finding tadpoles in an ice cream bucket in my parents’ backyard and we gave it our best to raise them into tree frogs. I learned young frogs are very fragile and not smart over and over until I finally got a few to live. Caleb rescued a bunch of tadpoles again a couple weeks ago. This time they were in a shallow mud puddle that dried up a couple days later. Fast forward to today and I walked into our kitchen to find little froglets sitting on top of the tadpole container! I have been so busy I forgot to get a tank ready. I quickly reassembled the frog habitat and bought fruit flies and have been putting froglets in their new home all day as they have climbed out of the water. I’m hoping a few more will survive this time!
