Roy Dudley Can!

by | Dec 11, 2010

On Friday, Work took us out to a “Holiday Lunch” at Olive Garden in Little Rock and then let us off work for the rest of the day.  Of course I took the opportunity to check out some of the estate sales early. 🙂 At Roy Dudley’s sale at Tanglewood, Kate showed me one of the coolest ideas I’ve seen in a while:  “Wrapping” gifts in a can! For $6, Kate will pack securely and “wrap” an item you find at Roy’s sale in a super cool decorated can. If you purchase a $50 or more Roy Dudley Gift Certificate, the “can wrapping” is free.

For those gifts sent out of state, this can is a souvenir from Arkansas due to the verbage on its side:

If you’re wondering how this is done, Kate has a can sealer. She’ll pack your item into the open can with colorful paper and use the sealer to seal the can so that only a can opener can free its contents. After unwrapping the gift inside, I could see this can being repurposed as a pencil holder or any other nifty idea you can come up with. So cool!
