June 1 – 4
These are the sales for the upcoming week as of Thursday, June 1, 2023

Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend! A highlight of my weekend was participating in the “Murph Challenge”, which is a Crossfit challenge honoring Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on June 28th, 2005. You can read about Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy’s incredible courage on this website. Honestly I had planned on chickening out on the workout because it looked so hard – Run 1 mile, do 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, and run another mile, but some girls in my class encouraged me to do it with them and I’m glad I did. I can’t do pull ups just yet (I’m working on it!), so I had to do ring-rows, but my biggest concern was the running. My running was super slow, but I was able to complete the miles without walking and finished the whole workout in 55 minutes. Now that I’ve done it, I should be able to shave multiple minutes off that time next year.

I had to take a photo to show off my shirt. Since I signed up late, the only available shirts in my size had sleeves, which would have driven me crazy to do all that work in. My coach mentioned I could change the shirt by cutting it, so I searched Youtube to get ideas. I gave the shirt a v-neck, cut off the sleeves, and then continued cutting down the side seams of the shirt on both sides and tied the shirt back together with multiple knots to give me a little air conditioning. It worked great!

We’ve got a nice list of sales for this weekend. Here’s what I know:

Included are a long and solid old hardwood porch swing, a couple of quality marble topped antique commodes, rocking chair, refinished high quality oak office chairs, bukhara rug, attractive modern Indian hand made berber style carpet, hook rugs, upholstered parson’s chairs, side tables, drop leaf table, refinished vintage dining table with  two pull out leaves and three matching chairs,  butlers table, comfy upholstered footstools, antique secretary, mid century modern upholstered armchairs and office chair, upholstered bench with metal filigree legs, book cases, deco style large five drawer bureau, solid pine large vintage two by four bureau,  range of vintage oak spindle chairs – from well refinished, to take home and work on, 1940’s solid oak desk, Danish modern style desk, 1940’s gray metal US Army style desk and unusual typewriter /file desk, quirky broken tile in cement topped table, other round dining tables and chairs, some cheap and practical bureaus and other desks and chairs.

Some original watercolors. Many unused photo albums.  Lots of frames.  All sorts of fun and odd animals, angels, mythical creatures and shapes to pore over.   Sewing and quilting supplies.

CLEANING:  It is embarrassing how many cleaning supplies we have.  Need a wall full of mop heads?  Twenty gallons of concentrated cleaner?  Twenty large spray bottles for stainless steel polishing?  Maybe eight vacuum cleaners?  Enough cherry scented room deodorizer to choke a hospital?  Much of this came from a maintenance man’s hoarder house. And on and on. Lord knows why he had it, and now it’s ours. Please buy and spread the clean!

CLOTHES:  Vintage leather jackets, church lady outfits ready to retro, womens’ and mens clothes worth checking out – being sold for a song, T-shirts, baseball caps, hiking boots, little purses, mixes and matches.

FUN AND GAMES:  Bowling balls, croquet and badminton, fishing lures, board games, golf clubs and golf balls, poker chips, cards, backgammon. All vintage.

DOLLS AND STUFFED ANIMALS:  Just look at the pictures, and try to resist.  A few Barbies at moderate prices, most super cheap and barely used.

MEDICAL SUPPLIES:  Dental and other equipment, stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors, disinfectant, scrubs, piles of sicissors, rheostats, TENS machines.  Lots of weird and potentially useful or cool to have things.  Want to inspect your friends’ ears?  Do we have the tools for you!

OLD TECH:  Cabinet home stereo systems from the 50’s, CB radio, VHS players and other music players, old cameras and film, old movie projectors, slide viewers, push button phones, Sony portable BW TV, screens like in school when you were a kid, if you’re that old, cables and connectors.  Do they work?  Dunno, and priced accordingly.

ARKANSAS COLLECTIBLES: Razorback umbrella and other stuff, Arkansas Travelers stadium cushions, wall map, other fun things.

CHRISTMAS and OTHER HOLIDAYS:  Did we mention tables and tables of lights, snoring and other Santas, dwarves, ornaments, vintage papers in the box, large outdoor NOEL candles, ribbons, bows, stars and all the materials needed to make the magic happen another year.  There’s even a little Halloween department, and some turkeys running around somewhere.  Find and gobble them up!

And more, still more.  Stop by and experience it.  This kind of nutty sale does not happen very often.  Thankfully. Our melt down, your gain.
