| I’m one week in and I could easily create a POV (point of view) meme of having kittens. My legs are scratched from being climbed up, the one plant they could reach is distroyed (Mom says I need to repot it anyway), and they will totally beg for food when they see one of us eating. I heard them making a racket yesterday and found them fighting in the styrofoam box above. They are amazing, though. Every night when I put the boys to bed, Dora and Boots curl up either at the foot of Joshua’s bed (the bottom bunk) or on the recliner in their room and go to sleep.Last Saturday I drove 3 hours to a competitor’s vintage market. I visited with exhibitors I haven’t seen in years and met some new ones who may join us in 2025. The best part was on Monday when a promoter friend called to compare notes. She heard through the grapevine I went and wanted to know how our competitor did. The show was well laid out and had lots of customers, but the exhibitors complained of a slower-than-usual show. I have been told over and over an election year will cause customers to hold tight to their money. I’m hoping the November 22-24 Bella Rustina will do well since we’ll be past the election, but I’m planning to spend more on advertising and strategize just in case.
I decided tonight to apply to be an exhibitor at the Bernice Garden Vintage Market this weekend. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to think about what all I can bring to the market and then it hit me I’ve got a vintage Christmas stash and all kinds of goodies all throughout my house. I’ve got a few tubs of vintage already priced in my garage, but getting to those tubs requires climbing on top of a stack of 40 tables. I ain’t skeered. Hopefully I’ll be accepted last-minute. The weather forecast looks great and I love hanging out with my exhibitor buddies.
