| Last Saturday I participated in the Bernice Garden Vintage Market as a vendor. The weather was amazing! I grabbed random totes out of my garage so each item I unwrapped was a surprise. Some items took me down memory lane of when I purchased it and others I have no clue where the stuff came from. I unwrapped an amazing collection of Ball jars and I have no recollection of where I got them. I had Bella Rustina cards in my checkout station from 2017 so that tells you how long it has been since I’ve set up at a show! I didn’t get rich, but I very much enjoyed getting to know the other exhibitors and meeting/seeing some of you!
This week is Fall Break and I’m having a blast with the boys. We went to Schaefers and Collins Pumpkin Patch on Monday, got our hair did yesterday, and today we’re in Branson. We didn’t have a smooth start because my truck’s check engine light started blinking as soon as we got on the freeway. I pulled into Auto Zone and had them run the code to find out I had a cylinder misfiring. I was very tempted to just take my chances and keep going, but I called a mechanic friend and he said I’d make it as long as another spark plug didn’t go bad. He told me what to buy and said he would fix my truck after he got off work. It was over an hour before he got off work, so we went junkin’ at Rusty Gold in Conway. Today is Caleb’s tenth birthday, so I let him buy a few lures and a couple fishing rods. The mechanic fixed my truck in 15 minutes and we were on our way.
Lucky for us Branson stays up late. We arrived just in time to do a round of putt-putt golf and go shopping at the Apple Tree Mall. Check out Joshua in his Minion Halloween costume (yellow shirt with overalls) – It came in yesterday and he just had to wear it! After shopping I booked our hotel room and the kids swam in the hotel pool until it closed at midnight. Then they were hungry so we went to Taco Bell. Later today we’ll be having a blast at the indoor water park and who knows what else.
I signed up with the Maumelle Philanthropists to be a drop-off point for food this month. Typically they ask businesses to be the drop-off point, but since I work from home, we made my home the drop-off location. The problem is only two people have brought by food donations this month! The Maumelle Philanthropists serve around 100 Maumelle families each month. I want to be able to help more, so I thought I’d mention this giving opportunity to y’all. If you’re in the Maumelle area and would like to donate non-perishable food for needy families in Maumelle, you can drop off food in the basket on my porch at 3 Canadian Cove in Maumelle until October 31. Yes, I’m putting my address out there, but it can be found with one Google search. Nothing is a secret. I have attack guard kittens at my house anyway – I have the scratches to prove it! 🙂
